Caviar House & Prunier is an iconic fine-food brand specialising in the production and distribution of caviar and smoked salmon and is one of the world's leading caviar pioneers. The group, formed in 2004 through the merger of Caviar House and Prunier, led by the collaboration between Peter G. Rebeiz, Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Bergé and Jean-Francis Bretelle. Today, it comprises three prime and emblematic brands: Prunier, Caviar House and Balik, and promotes the art of French caviar, which embodies experiential luxury throughout the world.
Prunier, founded in 1872 in Paris by Emile Prunier, is an emblematic and forward-thinking century-old brand, which created its first Oyster and Champagne bar in 1872 (in Paris) and went on to establish the world's first and oldest caviar farm in France during the 1990s. Prunier is today the standard-bearer of French caviar and gastronomic art de vivre worldwide.
Caviar House, a world reference in caviar trading since its foundation in the 1950s, is the largest importer of Iranian caviar globally and the brand is recognised universally for its quality, presence in major airports, and its prestigious and innovative selections of caviar.
Balik, founded in 1978, is universally considered the ultimate reference for fine smoked salmon. It created its first smokehouse in 1978 in the Swiss alpine foothills, built by the grandson of the last master smokehouse operator for Tsar Nicholas II at the Imperial Court of Russia.
